Bahaya Kosmetik Ber-merkuri

Banyaknya fenomena krim pemutih beberapa tahun belakangan ini, membuat beberapa remaja puteri tergiur menggunakannya guna mempercerah wajahnya. Tapi banyak yang tak tahu bahwa kita sepatutnya hati-hati dalam memilih kosmetik terutama krim pemutih. Sejak di bangku SMA, saya sempat mendengar salah satu produk krim pemutih yang berlabel halal yang juga dihiasi dengan gambar wanita berjilbab. Produk ini sangat banyak digunakan oleh teman-teman saya karena mampu mempercerah wajah dengan cepat. Melihat banyaknya permintaan produk tersebut, teman-teman dan mentor saya tak hanya menggunakannya tetapi mereka turut memperjual-belikannya. Satu bulan omsetnya bisa mencapai 100juta rupiah!

Satu tahun berlalu. Suatu hari mentor saya merasakan hal yang aneh. Tiba-tiba wajahnya menjadi berjerawat dll. Karena mencurigakan, mentor saya yang kebetulan alumnus kimia UI, mencoba untuk menguji kandungan yang ada di krim tersebut di lab. Dan hasilnya adalah adanya kandungan merkuri dalam krim tersebut. Parahnya lagi, kadarnya sangat tinggi. Setelah mengetahui hal tersebut, mentor saya pun menyetop pemakaian dan tak lagi menjualnya. Saat saya tanya,”Apa bahaya dari merkuri untuk tubuh kita?”. Beliau menjawab bahwa merkuri jika sudah masuk dalam tubuh kita, dia akan mengendap sampai 70 tahun lamanya. Selain itu dapat mengakibatkan kanker kulit, dapat memperlambat pertumbuhan janin, mengakibatkan keguguran (Kematian janin dan Mandul), bahkan dapat mengakibatkan autisme pada anak yang dikandungnya. Kemudian akibat pemakaian krim ber-merkuri lainnya yaitu gangguan system saraf, seperti tremor (gemetar), insomnia (tidak bisa tidur), pikun, gangguan penglihatan, ataxia (gerakan tangan tak normal), gangguan emosi, depresi dll. Kasus keracunan merkuri juga sering didiagnosis sebagai kasus Alzheimer, Parkinson, atau penyakit gangguan otak.

Tipsnya untuk membeli produk kosmetik yang benar-benar tak ber-merkuri adalah  pilihlah yang sudah berlabel halal dengan tanda atau tulisan HALAL disertai logo MUI dengan ada nomor Sertifikat Halalnya. Serta sudah terdaftar di BPOM atau Depkes. Untuk lebih meyakinka,n cek no BPOM di situsnya yaitu www.pom.go.id. Ada nomor Reg. BPOM RI disertai dengan kode CD (kosmetik dalam negeri) atau CL (kosmetik dari luar negeri), sehingga secara kesehatan aman dan secara syariah halal.
